AirTrunk SYD1 Sydney Campus
Pioneering 130 MW hyperscale campus that established Australia's mega-scale cloud market
The story
Commissioned in Huntingwood in Western Sydney, AirTrunk SYD1 transformed the Australian telecommunications landscape when it opened in 2017 as the continent's first dedicated hyperscale data center campus. Now expanded beyond 130 MW of critical load across 8 massive halls, SYD1 is powered by dual dedicated 132 kV sub-stations. Its custom dry-climate cooling technology achieves an annual PUE of 1.15, anchoring Australia's cloud boom.
Notable
- First dedicated hyperscale data center campus built in Australia, launching in 2017.
- Expanded to over 130 MW of critical power across a 7.2-hectare site in Western Sydney.
- Employs custom indirect evaporative cooling units to achieve an industry-leading PUE of 1.15.
