The story

Positioned in eastern Gansu along the historic Silk Road, the Qingyang National Computing Hub is one of China's premier newly designated 'AI powerhouses'. Designed to transform the Longdong energy basin's surplus wind, solar, and coalbed methane into computational tokens, the hub is engineered for a capacity of 800,000 server racks. Operating with dry plateau air cooling that guarantees PUE under 1.15, Qingyang serves as a strategic computing reservoir for the nation.

Notable

  • Core node of China's Eastern Data, Western Computing project in northwest Gansu province.
  • Designed to house 800,000 standard racks upon full completion across multiple industrial parks.
  • Powered by Longdong's massive multi-gigawatt wind and solar bases with ultra-low industrial power rates.
  • Constructs direct low-latency fiber trunks linking eastern tech metropolises.

Expansions

  • 2023: initial computing cluster activated with 10,000 standard server racks
  • 2025: targeting over 100,000 PFLOPS of intelligent AI computing capacity
