center3 Riyadh Data Center

The story

As part of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 digital economic transformation, stc Group spun out its data center and subsea assets into center3. The flagship Riyadh data center campus serves as the continental bridge connecting subsea cables landing along the Red Sea coast in Jeddah with Persian Gulf terrestrial routes into Oman, the UAE, and Bahrain. Equipped with advanced sand-filtration systems and magnetic-bearing chillers, the facility hosts hyperscale and sovereign cloud nodes.

Notable

• Anchors the terrestrial cross-peninsula fiber bridge linking the Red Sea (Jeddah) to the Arabian Gulf.
• Hosts sovereign availability zones for global hyperscalers including Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
• Engineered for desert resilience with multi-layer sand filtration and dual redundant chilled water loops.

Expansions

• 2023: Expansion of hyperscale cloud zones for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and Microsoft Azure
• 2024: Terrestrial fiber integration connecting 2Africa and EMC East subsea cable networks
